Hi there guys i want to scan my truck for a mis i'm having ,but any time i hook up the scanner and try a test it gives me this code P0708 which is Transmission Range Secsor Circuit High Input and P1000
i searched the forums and did what was suggested by cleaning the connecters on the transmission but i'm still getting the same codes and when i try doing a scan with the engine running i get these codes P1705 and P1000 can any one give me any pointers how to fix these problems ,btw i have a 1997 4.6 auto trans with ac and i'm using the snap on mt 2500

P1705 will happen if you don't have the transmission in park or neutral during the test, or if the Transmission Range Sensor is failed.

P1000 means the truck hasn't been driven enough for all the driving tests to have completed checking everything.

You also mention P1708, which you should never get. That's for the clutch pedal switch. You don't have one.

You did say P0708....sorry.

P0708 also refers to a bad Transmission Range Sensor *OR* a wire to the sensor. The computer can't tell if it is a bad wire or a bad sensor. You'll need a shop manual to diagnose this.

The TRS should be less than $100.
