Slave Cylinder Question

I HAVE A 1997 F-150 EXTENDED CAB V8 5 SPEED FOR THE LAST WINTER I STARTED LOSING FLUID ON REAL COLD DAYS AND THE CLUTCH WOULD NOT WORK NOW THAT IT IS WARM OUT THE CLUTCH WORKS FINE AND I DON'T HAVE TO ADD FLUID. DO I NEED TO REPLACE SLAVE CYLINDER TO FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE IT GETS COLD OUT AGAIN, IF SO IS IT BEST TO TAKE TO CERTIFIED GARAGE AND APPROX. HOW MUCH WOULD IT COST.
