305/70/16

i have a 1997 f150 XLT 4x4. i wanted to put 305/70/16 on it and i have 3:55 gears. will these tires be alright for the tranny for a couple of months until i can get gears, and will they fit, i have a 3 inch body lift and the torsion bars are cranked.

The tires will not hurt the tranny but if your truck is stock it will turn into a dog. There is room for the 305s if you use an 8 inch rim or less and keep the factory back spacing. The OEM is 7 inches. If you use a larger rim you will have to trim the lower valance to make room for the tire to clear when you turn it left to right and back.
