Exclamation Transmission range sensor/brake probs

The sensor on top of my master cylinder had a melt down today. It actually was melting. I bought the $30 part from the local dealer and installed it. Now my ABS lights came and I cant get it out of park while its started or the key in the on possition. My brake lights quit working too. WTF. Anyway. I replaced the sensor on the cylinder, tested the wires and connectors to that sensor and brake switch connected to the brake pedal. All tested fine with the multimeter. I have to turn the key forward 1 position to put it in nuetral to start it then I can drive and shift into any pos no prob. If I go to park, it wont come out of park and I have to repeat the process I just talked about. I have to drive it home from work without brake lights now. Any body got any suggestions? Help.

the brake light fuse is blown

this fuse also affects cruise control, ABS, and the brake shift interlock.

i cant recall what blows the fuse but if you run a search here i have read about it before. i think it might be thats brake pressure sensor that shorts out and since you already replaced that now just find that blown fuse.
