trans fluid change
I want to change trans fluid.
Can use Amsoil or Mobil 1 synthetic in place of Mercon? I have a '97 4x4 4.6L.
Just want to make sure I'm doing it right.

I use the Amsoil in my E40D. I just checked the Amsoil Application Guide and it lists the Amsoil Universal ATF for your automatic tranny. The Amsoil ATF bottle lists it as compatible with Mercon and Mercon V. I don't know about the Mobil 1.
