When I pushed the O/D botton on the gear lever, the dash went limp. All guages, and lights do not work. Any suggestions.

Check fuses, check for common ground.

If you haven't figured it out yet, the wires inside the shift lever, leading upto the O/D switch have frayed. When you pressed the O/D button, the switch received power and the exposed wire shorted the circuit. The O/D swith and instrument cluster use the same fuse.

You may or may not need to remove the steering column cover to find the exposed wire.
