Will a FT/VB fix this?

I have an 03 L with a JDM chip and a Line Valve mod with stiffer springs. When my truck shifts from 1-2 at full throttle its kinda lethargic. It feels like it's just a slow shift. I just ordered a FT/VB hoping this will fix the problem I've also been told that its probably because I have torque reduction turned off on my chip. Any Ideas?

My FTVB in a simple 4.6 with Superchip really firmed up the shifts. No more lag, you will deffinatly feel it in the shift! Before the FTVB, you would wait for the shift, but now no wait exists. Just pure power to the ground in a fast manner.
