So I turn the motor over until the plug from the converter is on the bottom and I can drain it. I pull the pan and the gasket and filter out and replace them. When I fill the transmission after reassembly will the converter also fill?

Not until you start it...it'll take a few minutes to charge, and may not charge completely until after a road test. Make sure you check it after a drive. It should hold about 12 quarts when you refill it.

Jim - Thank you so much for the help! Do think it is necessary to change the fluid in the torque converter??? Does the torque converter fluid circulate through the entire transmission?

Thanks again
