Torque Converter flush?

50,000 miles and I need to flush the transmission and TC. I wanted to do this at 30,000. Can I get by with draining or do I need to spend the 300 Bucks and do it right. If it really matters I rather spend the $$$ but that's tight. What is the difference in draining minus the TC vs. flushing the Transmission and TC? What advantage does it have?

I live in CA and was quoted between $340.00-390.00 for the 50,000 inspection including the TC and tranny flush. What do they charge you guys in the midwest? Thanks, and this is one nice site.

I've never cut and pasted on here so if it doesn't work, scroll down to the post called "Tranny Service" in the Transmission forum.

Some say that flushing can cause problems if anything comes loose, i.e. sludge, deposits, etc. especially if there are many miles on the tranny. I wouldn't trust others to service my tranny, usually they have kids that just learned the difference between clockwise and counterclockwise. DIY
