code 693 tss problem

code 693 tss problem

I ran the codes on my 1995 f-150 5.0 4r70w 8.8 last night. found and fixed engine codes. need help with the trans code 639. Help on finding the tss and replacing it. trans seems to shift fine ,fluid nice color and smells fine.

Hi xraytommy93

This is your code

DTC 639 indicates frequency or voltage of the TSS/OSS is insufficient to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

The sensor is located on the drivers side of the trans, just above and back from the shift linkage/range sensor. It has a two pin connector and a single bolt holding it in the case.

The resistance of that sensor is supposed to be between 450 and 750 ohms.
