I have had this problem over the last few weeks but thought nothing of it. I changed my tranny fluid and filter(along with torque converter fluid). Shifting is just fine no problems I even seem to have a little more power in OD than I did before the fuid change. But the problem I am having I had before the fuid change, when slowing down to stop the RPM's drop to 400 then SHOOT up to 1,100 with a hard downshift from 2nd to 1st. Any ideas of what my problem is?? I searched the forum and found no answers.
My tranny has 140,000 miles on it, it's in an 88 Ford Bronco with a 302 and 4x4.
