Grinding 3rd gear

Hi All,

Im starting to get a grinding noise when shifting into 3rd gear. I always try and make sure I push the clutch all the way in, but it still grinds. Anybody had a similar situation and if so, what was the fix? Im going to be out of warranty in a few months and was wondering if this is something that would be covered? Any help is greatly appreciated. The truck is a 2000 V6 5 Speed with about 59,000 kms on it.

Thanks,

I guess this is a pretty common problem. I get a grind from first to second, and it mostly because I want to get going in a hurry and let the clutch out too soon. I'm hoping the short throw shifter will help to have my clutch more in sync with the shift. That is when the short throw shifter gets here.

I have seen that people are getting syncros replaced under warranty. If it's something that happends all the time then you would be a prime canidate for a new syncro. If it's an intermittent problem then good luck getting the service dept. to hear it.

Let us know what you find.
