I read somewhere that the auto transmissions on the newer F150s automatically compensated for towing by adjusting the line pressure higher for more firmer shifts. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, on what year did they start doing this?

On my 99 w/4R70W a.t....I did not feel any difference solo/towing.

The only time i felt a real difference in shifting was w/a schip.

Maybe someone here will update. Those a/ts are smart.
