Somebody help me please
I have a 1997 f-150 xl this truck was a 4.2litre 5 speed truck
however when the v-6 spat a connecting rod out of the side i decided to swap in a 4.6...Sounds easy enough huh? WRONG
I have the swap completed finally but am having problems getting this 4r70w to shift or accelerate I have scanned it and the codes reflect that the trans mission is nt recieving any kind of signal at all from the ecm. After checking voltage at the harness I have confirmed this. has anybody done this swap, seen it done or know of a person i can talk to or get a good schematic for this pile of junk. everything else works fine and yes I swapped the complete harness and column and computer from the donor vehicle. by the way if you do this swap be sure you have lots and lots of asprin and beer.

Are there any sensors on the transmission? If I'm not mistaken there is one. You might need to reset your ecu. If you had your battery cables connected to the battery while a sensor was unplugged, it will throw your ecu out of whack.
I'd check all the sensors to make sure they're securely connected, and reset the computer by removing the negative battery cable and turning on your headlight switch for 10-15 minutes. Turning on your headlight switch drains any residual memory out of your truck's ecu.
After 15 minutes, turn off your headlight switch, then reconnect your negative battery cable. Then turn your key to the "ON" position but do not start it. Watch your gauges. A full gauge sweep indicates that your computer has been reset and all sensors have been recalibrated. See if that helps.

What year PCM and tranny??? Follow the red wire up the harness till you find the break in the wire. Probe it at the PCM to see if it is sending out any voltage.
