How To/Is It Possible To Flush Cooler & Lines?

I'm having my local shop rebuild my transmission with a Factory Tech Monster in a Box kit and I need to flush my internal (radiator) cooler, auxilary cooler, and lines. I've been advised that it is not possible to completely clean out the lines and cooler and that they will have to be replaced.

Can someone shed some light on this? I find it hard to believe that the system can't be sufficiently flushed.

If it can be flushed, what is the method for doing so?

Thanks for the help.

BTW: This is a 4R100 tranny with a Hayden Transaver Plus Heavy Duty #1678 cooler.

Lightbulb tranny flush

Sky hook,

Just had my tranny flushed and it made a big difference. Most of the time the shop will disconnect the low pressure line from the radiator and connect in between the inlet port and the line a (sun tune systems) transmission flusher/pump. What this does is it removes virtually 100% of the old fluid and replaces it with new fluid. Usually the shop will start and stop the engine during this process to flush out the torque converter also. Before I had mine done I poured in tranny flush in a bottle. Drove around for a week and then had the flush done. Mike

Thanks for the reply.

The problem is that my transmission will be removed from the vehicle when I need to flush the lines and cooler.

Does anyone know of a good method to do this?

I could be wrong, but I think you can used compressed air to clear out the lines?

If that's the answer then that's great 'cause I just bought a new air compressor.

And, it would take about 5 minutes.

Anyone else know? I was told by a transmission shop that the lines can't be cleaned and have to be replaced and that a new external cooler would have to be installed to bypass the internal (radiator) cooler. Are they high?

I ended up blowing the lines out and then installed an external filter by Magnefine.

Would like to have installed it downstream from both the radiator cooler and the external cooler but it was way too easy to cut the line between the two and install it there.
