Part in trans. pan

I'm changing my trans. fluid for the first time and when I removed the pan I found this small, white plastic piece that's about 1.5 inches long, has a stem sort of plastic at top, is beveled on the bottom and has a black o-ring at the top of the beveled piece. My buddy says it looks like an olive with a stem. What is this and where does it go??? Help!!!!

Cool

HI!... Don't worry about it. That's normal. Just throw it away. That is a plug that FORD's uses to plug the tranny dipstick hole so no dirt gets in the tranny during transportation. At the factory, they just simply push the dipstick tube in. That pushes that plug into the tranny pan. It's harmless. I've seen that plug many, many times.
