this morning i could not back out of the driveway. i have an 2000 f150xlt with 5.4l & 4r70w trans. i rolled out to street & drove around block slow shifting 1-2. it was fine yesterday & fluid looks fine. it has only 31k easy miles. could this be an electrical problem? any help where to start would be greately appreciated. thanks.

 

its in the shop . come on. somebody take a shot at it. it wont go into reverse, seems to have no 2nd, if i switch off od it seems to shift up to 3rd. this truck has been perfect up to this point. i dont tow and 30k seems new to me.the 1st guy at the shop seemed to know what the problem might be ,then they said they were going to get a 2nd opinion before doing anything to it. could this be a computer problem? any help would be greately appreciated. thanks.

Maybe Mark K. or Factory tech. or others can be more helpful.

Only thing i know for sure...with bad shifting on my 4R70...the OD (tcil) light was flashing. That set a trb. code..had bad shift solenoid. Didnt lose any gears...just really bad 2/3 shift.

Im surprised the "tcil" wasnt flashing. If no trb. code set. i guess that will make it harder to diagnose problem..even so..seems to me tech. will figure it out.

Anyhow...gotta get it fixed..maybe you can update.

Can you please update, I know it was years ago, but others like myself will experience the same type of problems at some time and any info would be helpful.
