What kinda trans is in here? '97 F150 2WD 4.6L SOHC w/ auto. Is it a 4R70W, 4R100? What trans came in what trucks? Thanks!!

 

The 4R70W was the only A/T available for the 4.6L in 1997.

E=4R100

 

It should be the 4r70w tranny in your truck.

CHECK THE TRANNY PAN IF ITS 13" X 13" APROX. IT SHOULD BE 4R7OW. I GOT THAT INFO WHEN LOOKING AT THE RCD LIFT FOR MY TRUCK. MINE IS A 2002 BUT MAYBE THAT INFO WILL HELP YOU.

P.S. THE E40D TRANNY PAN IS 13" X 23" APROX.
