tranny clunk

Fluid is fine. Has anyone replaced tranny mounts? Are they hard to do? Can I just unbolt them, lift the tranny a little, then put new ones in, like on my old car?
thanks in advance.

97 f-150, 4.6, manual, plain jane xl (coming up on 200,000 miles)

I haven't replaced my transmission mount but, I have had it off and there's really no trouble to concern yourself with.

I think you remove 3 bolts. 2 are mounted to the cross-member and 1 is mounted to the transmission's extension housing.

May be different on manual or 4x4 models.
