transgo shift kit install ?'s (help)

hey,

im in the process of installing a transgo shift kit in my 00 ford with the 4r70w (aode) transmission.

in the installation instructions step 1 it states to locate the 2nd accumulator piston, but does not tell you where the piston is located.

anyone here ever install this kit, and if so where is this piston located?

do i have to drop the valve body first, to locate it?

thanks in advance,

jason

Did you get the kit with the video? The video is very helpful in seeing what things look like. If not, follow the directions in the exact order they are printed.

I can't recall exactly right now, but one of the accumulators could be accessed with the valve body installed.... the other required dropping the valve body.

Be careful with the "plastic" electrical connectors that join the solenoids. If you break it, you'll be at the parts store in the morning looking for another because you can't repair it.

Yes, you have to drop the valve body to get at the servos(accumulators). The 1-2 servo is the one on the drivers side closest to the engine. The 2-3 servo is closest to the rear(driveshaft) of the 3 servos on the passenger side.

p.s when you loosen the valve body, watch for falling oil

Good luck
