Questions concerning towing

What can you do to increase the pulling power of 4.6L with 3.55 gears. Someone suggested a new Gibson Swept Side exhaust system would help a lot, does anyone agree with that? Also heard that you could lose low-end torque with an after market exhaust system, is that true? And how important is low-end torque?

Any help would be great.

Please don’t say buy a new truck with a 5.4L, I like my truck and plan to keep it for a long time.

Thanks

For the biggest change, go to 4.10 or 4.56 gears. They give the engine more mechanical advantage to move the load. They also keep the engine closer to the torque peak on the highway.

Have you looked at a supercharger?

An exhaust and/or chip will help but not as much as gears.
