brake controller

I called around to get an estimate on a brake controller and installation. 150 dollars for controller and installation. Are they that hard to to install on a 98 f150 with towing package? Is it easy to install yourself? Thanks guys

At work we charge $25.00 on a "pre wired" truck. Your truck is pre wired, look under dash, right side of the wheel.

The controls we have run $85-185.00.

Post save on installation, spend on quality controller

With a prewired truck, the job is easy...connect a few wires from the controller to the Ford wiring harness, drill a couple of holes to mount the controller, and snap the wiring harness and under-dash plug together.

Save the money on installation and spend it on a quality controller instead, like the Tekonsha Prodigy or Jordan Ultima.

I agree 100%. A brake controller can be a life or death item. Buy the best. I have a Jordan 2020 but have heard good things about the prodigy, too.
