Hi Papaone Welcome!

For starters..look for the decal on the drivers side door jamb.
Need to know GVWR/GCWR axle wts, tires etc. If the GCWR not shown..it maybe listed in the owners manuel?

Once you know tow rating of your truck..then youll know how much you can safely tow.

Some here tow boats..so they may reply. I dont know rating on your truck, maybe someone here knows?

Good luck...OT

Thumbs up

Welcome papaone, my first thought is I wouldn't let an eight year old truck dictate what boat I would get however, first boats are usually smaller and a V8 Ford should pull anything under 22 feet. If it's bigger than that, you'd probably be happier keeping it at a marina or some dry storage anyway.

Find yourself a good boat first, then if you can't tow it I gaurantee you'll be fighting off PowerStroke Diesel owners who want to be your friend.
