Question Towing with 18" low profile tires??

Anybody tow with low profile tires.I tow a 4500lbs travel trailer and am looking at a set of Lightning 18x9.5 wheels with 285/60R18 tires.Anyone know of problems with this set up? The new tire load rating is about the same as stock and overall tire height is within 1/2 "
Thanks

I am looking at the same thing. The Michelin Pilot LTX is actually a "XL" tire with about a 1000# extra capacity per tire.

The lower sidewall should make the truck tow better since there is less sidewall height to cause sway.

Exclamation towing with low profile tires

There is one very important thing to consider with those tires. They are probably a softer compound and will wear quicker than a normal tire. Yes the sidewalls will eliminate sway, but in the process are they scubbing that inertia from the trailer off in side-ways tire grinding. Those would be expensive tires to burn-off like that. IMHO

I think you will be alright if you go with that set up.
