Lightbulb **** Mirrors

My **** mirrors scratched the chrome covers on the truck when I had my '98. When I got the new truck, I covered the holding bars inside of the *****. Just glued a thin piece of carpet to each bar.

Good idea!! I've noticed the scratches on my 98 too! At one time I thought about the X-Mount mirrors (telescoping; just like the 250's) until I saw the $400 price tag!!! Sounds like another few years of slipping the ****'s on & off!!!

Question X-mount mirrors

hey penguin149, where did you see the telescoping mirrors. I have a 01 F150 and would like to look into this option.

Thanks
Don

Hi On my 99SC

I made a post on this sometime back..maybe Aug/ 01...Lucericx X-mount mirrors etc..

Anyhow, didnt know about x-mount till after i installed ****.

**** slide on gave me that extension, but still not enough mirror surface or depth like the tow-mirrors on SD etc. Didnt like looking at double mirrors and double view...made it confusing for me

Anyhow...the x-mount as stated aint cheap...but for me was worth the $...there easy to install...just follow the directions.
They extend out approx: 4"...which is more than enought for my TT 7'3" wide. They should also work great on 8'wide..

BTW...these are not junk...quality etc...great warranty..

Good luck....OT

Do you have pictures of them installed? I havne't checked the site yet so they may but I thought I'd ask. I'd like to do somehting for my Expy but I'm not sure if I can without really changing it. My boat has an 8'6" beam so the trailer is about 10' wide at max and I have to tilt mine down slightly just to watch the trailer wheels! It's nerve racking sometimes on narrow roads or in traffic!

:EDIT:
Just saw them. They don't look bad! However, they don't make them for the Expy. I'd think they would work on the Expy but I would loose the lights in mine. I was impressed to see that they use the OEM connector for the electic controls!!

Hi Family Ride

Your right, as i recall, they dont have them for the Expy. Thats a big boat...trailer 10' wide....geez...is that legal without a lead or follow vehicle?

No i didnt post pics....maybe someday ill learn how to do that.

Just passing along...Trailer Life mag. Feb O2...did a story and pics. on the Lucerix xmount.

Good luck...OT

OT, it's am 8'6" (102") beam which is the max to be 50 state legal for towing. Now thinking about it, I bet that that puts the trailer at 9' which is the max width!

It's wide beam boat. Once you get to the 27'-28' you usually get up to the 9'2" or wider beam. Unless you ar Cigarette! Their 31' and larger boats are a 7'10" I beleive it is, and all are twin power! Takes them forever to get on plane but once they do, top end is out there!!!! And all for a starting price of about $125000!

They don't fit the Expy

FamilyRide;

I checked this last summer. The mirrors fit the 150 but not the Expedition. I couldn't believe this, so I compared my truck to a friends F150 and sure enough the mounts are different (bigger on the Expy).

OT - on a separate note, I see the new Autometer has a black box for their tachs to work with the coil on plug ignition. It is in the 2002 catalogue on the website. I remembered you were looking for this a while ago.
