Trailer Tow Package Includes...
I just picked up my '02 Supercrew with 5.4L, Tow package, and Fx4. I've only driven the truck twice, but am thinking about either moving my brake controller from my Explorer or buying a new one.
I've read that hooking up the controller is very simple - use the connect tucked under the dash near the pedals. However, I also read that there should be two relays, and a wire harness in the glove box. I don't have anything in the glove box except my owner's manual. Do the '02's come with the relays pre-installed, or does my dealer have them? Where are the relays located (slot numbers and box)?
Thanks in advance!

Check you door pockets as well for the harness. I have seen them placed there. I noticed quite a few trucks unlocked at a dealer in Houston on a Sunday. Maybe someone lifted the harness for them selves???? Your under warranty so you should have no problems getting a new one.
My wife has my truck today....
but I can check tomorrow if you don't get the answer on the exact slots. It was pretty self explanatory when I popped open the box. On my 1998 the dealer installed them, on my 1999 they had them in a plastic bag for me to do. They were square, the box was located under the hood.
The wiring harness was in the bag also. Don't know if the set up has changed or not, but if you can't find them I'd stop back by the dealer. The harness has the plug on one end that plugs in under the dash and exposed wires on the other that tie into your controller.

Thanks for the help, guys. I found my bag of relays and wire harness in the driver's map pocket. I don't get to drive my truck often as my drive to work is quite far and I take the contour for gas purposes. But since I had to take my Screw in to get the Line-X applied, I checked the map pockets. I should be all set. I assume there is a decent description about where the relays go in the bag as well, but I didn't check.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
