Factory vs P3 vs Maxbrake controllers?

Alright so the cheapie U-haul brake controller on my dads 2010 F150 is no longer recognizing when you apply the brakes (or lighting the brake lights) so figure while Im in there fixing the wiring job (done by Uhaul so figuring bad connection) figured Id go ahead and upgrade the controller but not 100% on what I want to use. Its currently the backup tow rig (as Ive upgraded to a 91 F250 diesel for primary tow duty) so itll get infrequent use but my current trailer is a 24' enclosed car trailer with dual electric brakes that I want to eventully upgrade to electric over hydraulic disc brakes. Also planning on upgrading the controller in the 250 at the same time as its another Uhaul special (found out the day before a race that the brake controller was inop so got the cheapest controller they had and installed it during lunch at work) but obviously cant do a factory controller for that one.

Long story short, pros & cons of the F150 factory controller vs P3 and Maxbrake for a 2010 F150 and P3 vs Maxbrake for a 91 F250.

For those that dont know what the Maxbrake is this is their website and likewise for the P3 (I will admit thats not Tekonsha's website but it has more info)

Not familiar with the Maxbrake. The P3 is an excellent controller. The factory controller is best because it integrates with the ABS and stability systems.

I'd get a P3 for the F250 and the factory controller for the F150. I believe the dealer will have to flash the 2010 to enable the controller.

Unless you ever figure on needing both trucks towing at the same time, I'd get the P3 with an adapter for the F150 and another adapter for the F250. Get an extra mounting bracket too..

Swap between the two of them with one controller...
