Question max towing capacity

Hey guys, I have a 1995 f150 ext. Cab 4x4 with the 5.0 and 4.10 rear, and its a manual. I have been trying to find the towing capacity for this truck for a while now and cannot find a certain number....thanks for your help in.advance!!

With a manual trans, it's 3000# (GCWR 7800#). If you had an automatic, it would be 6600# (GCWR 11500#).

The low limit is due to the limitations of the light-duty Mazda 5 speed trans.

With a 17 year old truck, it's not like any 'published' "tow rating" is necessarily going to apply today anyway??

"today's" tow rating is really going to be whatever you think it's going to be able to handle in the trucks current state of mechanical ability/condition..

Basically, just don't overload the tires or the rear GAWR and the rest is just whatever you feel comfortable with...

If it tows whatever you hitch up to it fine and to your performance and handling expectations, there you go!
