I am driving a 2011 Ecoboost FX4 Screw, 157" wheelbase with max tow pkg and 3.73 gears. I am picking up our new camper next weekend and was wondering what others are doing while towing? Do you just let the trans shift on its own while in tow/haul mode or do you lock out 6th gear?? My old camper was only 4500lbs so my truck wasn't even breaking a sweat but the new camper will be about 7500lbs when loaded so any input will be greatly appreciated!! Kevin

 

Leave it in tow/haul and let the computer do its thing.

My '10 doesnt let me lock out a gear so I just leave it in tow/haul and let it do its thing (with my new much heavier enclosed car trailer it seems to like to stay in 5th)
