Specifically the toolboxes that sit on the bedrail or innerside I know there are a lot of names for them. Im thinking about changing my current setup to a bedside toolbox because I need my bed length back because it is annoying me and I want to be able to access tools from the side of the bed. I can sacrifice bedwidth for this thats not a problem.

If I get a bedside toolbox that is shorter than the length of my bed where should I put the foot gap at the front of the bed or the back? Dont want it to look funny but utility is my main goal.
