Towing harness question
I just went through this with mine. You can get the harness from the dealer. I was quoted anywhere from $41 to almost $70. The harness replaces all the wires to all the lights on the back of the truck, the bracket for the connector and possibly more. It plugs in on the left frame next to the spare tire. I just cut off the flat 4 connector already on the back of the truck and found the other wires I need and hooked up my own 7 pin connector. I'm still trying to find the right bracket for the 7 pin. I have a Ford hitch and it had a hole tapped in the bottom to mount a bracket.(Anyone out there have a p/n?) Right now the 7 pin is tie wrapped to the hitch. I did buy the harness for the brake controler from the dealer.(<$7) It took me about 1/2hr to put the controler in. HTH.

DF4.6,
Have you looked to find that bracket at one of the local junk yards. I`m sure one has to have a F150 thats been hit with the bracket on it, its worth a shot. I know there has been 1 or 2 in the lot at the local wrecker here lately.
I used to pass through Hilton alot in my cruising days while I lived in Rochester/Fairport areas in my younger days.
. Nice area in the fall to drive through.

I recently borrowed a friends snowmobile trailer to haul some of my things to our new home and had to buy an adapter to go from 7 down to 4 to fit his wiring. I was in Wal-Mart picking up a couple other things and thought maybe they have one. Sure enough they had kits and adapters for most later model makes. You may want to check there. They even had the whole 7 pin wiring harness and brackets for the ford trucks. I don't recall how much the whole harness was but the adapter was only 10 bucks.
The one I went to was one of the new Super Wal-Marts so if one is in your area check it out.

DF4.6,
Had a buddy that lived on the edge of Parma/Greece that I went to Community College of the Finger lakes with. Thats how I passed through Hilton once in awhile. I think we cut through 259 or 295 or something like that its been awhile. Yeah it was small to if I remembered right, took about 3 minutes to cut through the village
It was really nice looking when the trees changed going through that area, always knew ski time at Bristol Mountain or swain was coming

I guess my biggest question is do I have to worry about the engine computer or is not something that is an issue.
I have heard the F-150's computers are very sensitive....

DF4.6- I just installed a 7 pin plug and I used a standard automotive gauge bracket. The kind for a round oil or temp. gauge. It worked great. The plug mounted right into it and I just screwed the bracket to the truck.
ps. Hilton isnt that far off the map. (Fingerlakes area)
