trailer towing
Also depends on where your storage options are on your trailer... If it's all at the rear, than you'll lighten the tongue, possibly making it an unstable tow..
If it's all up front, than it could make the tongue weight too much..
Ideally, you want your load on any trailer to be something like a 60-40% distribution front to rear respectively.
I put my firewood, tools and generator (if I'm hauling it) in the truck.. It's not like I have a place to put them in the trailer..
Just those things alone, probably add #400.. (it's a Honda 3000i gen)
All trailer type stuff goes in the trailer... Food, BEER, clothes, kitchen stuff, TV, leveling blocks, etc..

Doubt you will go over your payload with a 21' TT. But put as much stuff in the front cargo as you can without making it a pain to get to. Then put the rest in the truck. I like to keep TT stuff in the TT and stuff like firewood, tools, extra gas tanks or xtra propane tanks in the truck. It's cleaner that way and safer. Have you check your yellow sticker on the drivers door to see what your max payload is? And you should weigh your TT tongue when you get it loaded with stuff. I wouldn't worry about food or clothes, but all the other stuff you take camping. Get those weights and see how that compares to your trucks payload.
