can i tow a fifth wheel with a 2005 ford Fx4 diesel 5.9 with a short bed ( 38ft.)

as long as you go straight and never, ever attempt any type of turn more than a lane change (your trailer is going to take off the corners of your cab.

And a 38 foot fiver has got to weigh (empty) at least 8,000 lbs.

 

You guys are missing the main issues of he says the F-150 has a 5.9... and that it's a diesel. And a 38ft 5'er is gonna weight in at more like 18,000lbs, not 8000lbs.

 

If it's a 5.9 diesel it's a Dodge. If it's a 2005 FX4 and has a diesel, it's a Super Duty, not a F-150. If it's a 38 foot 5'er, a F-150 ain't towing it no way no how, that's 1+ ton DRW territory, regardless of bed length.

I know someone that's towing a 41 foot 5th wheel toyhauler with a C2500 with an 8.1, and they are nuts. Poor truck.
