Post BETTER TIE DOWNS?

Any suggestions on improving/upgrading the existing tie downs? I've seen the "trick" eyebolts that bolt in the bottom of the bed. I want to upgrade the existing tie downs.

Thanks

kerlinger, if you have a 97-00 truck, the stock tie downs are the old style, and yes they suck, all you need to do is get the 2001 tie downs. Just go to your local Ford dealership and take a look at them, they are much easier to use, and cheap too, I think I paid like $12 for all four of them, right from the parts counter...

Coming Soon - Lift Spindles, 33's, Step Bars, etc, etc...

just switched out my tie downs to the 2001 models. piece of cake, work much better, especially for hauling a motorcycle in the back.

Kerlinger, if you do go with the 2001 tiedowns, do yourself a favor and buy a set of inexpensive locking carabiners and install one on each tiedown. It will be much easier on any rope you use and allow you to really pull things tight when you need to.

Jimster:
I agree...bought some biners from Lowe's that fit in the holes of the old-style tie downs and thing are much easier, especially when hooking up bungee cords. I plan to upgrade to the newr style ASAP, though
