How much can you haul with what you got?
Actually, all's well. I've wanted a replacement for my Diesel Suburban for a while -- and really wanted something (didn't know it was a pickup) that had the LT tires (no passcar tires, thanks), decent ride (didn't go with the 2500 suburban which rode like a lumber-wagon), nice interior etc.
The 7700 series fits me perfect. The only thing I miss is that usually on the 2xxx series vehicles, you got a front end that was beefy -- replete with zerk fittings etc.
The front end of Fords (twin I) kept me from buying Ford for years. My '97 F-150 was real nice -- and I decided to pull all of the stops on Nick. The torque rod front end is a real bonus -- I grew up in the Chrysler torque rod front end years -- and that was a really great way of keeping unsprung weight down. If Ford would use the GMC Saginaw Gear steering box, they'd really have a nice front end -- since I miss the one-thumb steering -- best my '97 ever got to was 2+1 (two fingers plus one thumb) -- which is not as comfortable (to me).
I'd also like to have the extra 3 inches of wheelbase that the Chevy trucks have -- but I enjoy the turning radius of the Ford.
Barring any Piston Slap which lands me in jail for killing a service manager, I plan on keeping Nick for 10-15 years -- and so far, I don't see any reason why not.
Enjoy,
