Weight distributing hitch insallation
Is it hard to do, or should I do it myself? How about sway control bar on the trailer?

I't pretty easy. You can do it no problem. There are two brackets that attach to the rails of the trailer tounge that just have a lock bolt each on them. And the rest is just built into the tow bar. The tow bar has two specialized slots that the spring bars fit into. You just have to then experiment with the amount of tension on the bars (amount of chain in the brackets) to get the truck back within 1/4 inch of unloaded height when laoded. Here's a picture of them set up. The chains are hanging in the brackets that I mentioned. I can take pictures of the individual parts for you and how they look on the vehicle if you like.

Tina I moved the trailer without them and the back end sits lower then the front. Also a took the camper to get inspected in Oct. 99 and didn't have the weight distro. just right and I had a real noticable bounce. This time I used the next link and only noticed a slight difference in the ride from normal. My hitch weight is around 450 and I figure around 4000 tow weight this time.
Never towed this one without them. Other TT I have, however smaller and I was suprised at how well this bigger one handles with them as compaired to the smaller one without them. Very stable in cross winds. When a big Semi's comes right by me on two lane roads I do not move at all. When one comes up beside me on 4 laners I can feel a tug as they aproach the side and a little push after they clear my nose but then back to normal. Don't want to know what it would be like with out them. I am pulling about 4500 pounds and estimate my tounge weight at 500. I am using Reese 550 pound rated spring bars. There is about a three to four inch drop in the rear end without the spring bars on my F250SD Superduty. There was another couple of inches drop (almost 6) when I had it on my F150. Interestingly enough it takes more spring pressure to level out the 250SD because of its stiffer springs. So I have to increase the tension on them by one chain link to bring the F250SD back up to level than what it took on the F150. With the F250SD the front sort of resists the weight being thrown up forward more on the F250SD than it took on the F150 even with HD shocks on the F150.
