F 150 Towing
Well I did it. Yep we are the proud owners of a 2010 F150, 5.4L, Max Tow, 3.73 axle, with 17" wheels. And a "Front License Plate Bracket." If they had not included that, NO DEAL. I guess it's because we live in Texas where we have to have a plate on the front. BUT, that Lic Bracket is what keeps my F150 from fitting in my garage. No kidding. So cutting a piece of sheetrock out tonight. Go figure................RAE.
Thanks for the feed back Marabeth, you are towing just about what we are looking at, maybe another 700 pounds. Your feed back is good to hear. All along I hev been trying to hear from someone towing with a 209 or 2010 F150 with Max Tow. Most of the other people who have replied have 2004s, 2007s, when in 09 Ford changed their F150s for towing. Have you towed through any hills?............RAE.

I would have to say that trailer ready to camp weighted about 7500... give or take (we never got it weight, we didn't have it long enough and it spent most of it's days at the dealership). We never traveled with any of the tanks full (not including the LP tanks of course).
The spree tows much better than the Springdale did. I think it's because the Spree is more aerodynamic shape (not that towing a barn down is aerodynamic..
), in regards to the nose of the trailer and that is has a fulling unclosed under belly.In regards to hills and performance... I am not going to use the line "The Truck doesn't know it's back there" because it does but that doesn't mean we are underpowered for the job we are asking it to do.
Congrats on the new purchase.
In regards to your truck not fitting in your garage... Funny story. When we went shopping for our truck our biggest concern was being able to fit the dog crates in the back. We went as far as to take the our test drive truck to our house and test fit the crates, and they fit. We never for once thought if the truck would fit in the drive way. And it does, but when parking the person in the passenger seat has to get out first because of the width of the driveway is only a few inches bigger then the width of the truck.
We just purchase a new house and the truck fits in the driveway (and the trailer fits in the back yard - prefect)
but it wont fit in the garage as the ceiling height is too low. ALSO be careful with under ground parking lots, you wont be able to fit into all of them (another lesson we learnt the wrong way).
The longest trip we have taken with this truck was from Manitoulin Island to the Greater Toronto Area. It did very well, and we have a heavier trailer back then. At the time of this trip we have a 2009 Springdale 276RBSS. The specs for this trailer were;
