Steering Off Center/Help

I recently bought a new travel trailer and leaving the lot the sterring wheel was off center, slightly tilted to the left about 2 inches almost. After getting home I adjusted equalizer hitch. Weight distribution appears to be right. good measurements all around. Got the trailer level and truck level, thought I would be good but steering wheel was still off. The truck does not pull to the left at all.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Do you still have this problem when the trailer is unhooked?

Sounds like a truck problem, having a trailer hooked up shouldnt do anything like your talking about.

If it is not off center when not towing, then I would say there might be a problem with the way the trailer is towing, causing the off center steering to go straight. If that is the case, then you need to go back to the trailer dealer and find out why.

Thanks, I think I am going to investigate the truck 1st. After further inspection, I do notice this same effect slightly without the trailer. I have to hold the wheel slightly to the left even on level roads. Its not that bad, more of a nuisance. The trailer is about 5200lbs empty and I think it might be aggrivating the problem. Who knows, could be tires, suspension or alignment. I'm going in for another free oil change next week and i'll ask them to investigate. On a different note. I hope my new telescoping mirrors arrive from Tasca today so I can get them on this weekend.

If it is off center, you need an alignment. That is where you should start.

Thanks for the advice. Turns out it needed a minor alignment adjustment. I took advantage of the free one under 12,000 miles. Problem solved.
