7 pin question

i have a 97 f150 with a tow package. i have the 7 round and 4 flat. i tryed to tow a fishing boat but when we checked the lights all i had was break lights. is there a fuse that went bad under the truck or is there a bad wire or wires that i need to swap out or should i get a whole new plug.
thanks

Are you sure the trailer's wiring and bulbs are all in working order? I'd bet the truck isn't the problem.

There are different fuses for parking and turn lights I believe. There is an additional fuse box under the hood. I think the "sticky" post had a diagram of it?

It's also in your owners manual and if you don't have that, it can be downloaded from here.

Im with ChrisT because me and my dad had the same problem and it was the trailer. But make sure you do check all the fuses.

It is probably a fuse under teh hood. I lost running lights on my trailer this past summer. Still had brake, and turn, but no marker lights. It ended up being the fuse under the hood.

I wouold think it is similar. You can go to the above site, and download the one for your year model.

From the owner's manual on above page.

16 40 Trailer tow battery charge and stop/turn lamps

So I would say this was probably the problem. If you don't have a trailer to hook up and test, you can test with a meter, or they sell cheap little plug in testers at most auto parts places.
