towing question

okay not really sure if this goes here or in another section, but i will ask here.

what is the lowest i can go and still be able to tow roughly 4,000-6,000 lbs.. i want to drop 2-4 inches that low i was thinking i would either bag it or put a set of overload springs on it...

not sure what would be the best way about lowering and still being able to tow..

its a 2wd, and i want to lower for looks

its on a 01 supercrew with 5.4l engine

Go as low as you can go with hangers, meaning 3" and you wont effect towing much other then just that you would be closer to the bumpstops.

If you get a set of helper bags you can easily do a 3/5 setup and then just air up the bags to higher PSI to help control leaf sag under the weight.

I was lowered 3/3 in this picture (roughly 6,000lbs)

And then since then ive towed several times without changing the suspension but not nearly that much weight

estimated 3,500

estimated 2,000

estimated 1,500

so your truck is a 3/3 drop?? looks good, thats the height i want..

what all suspension parts are required for a drop like that.. i have tried looking around but never can find good answers.

like is your front a spring drop, lca drop or spindle drop (and differences in ride quality vs. price) those are the three ways i have read on how to lower the truck, not sure how each work though...
and how did you drop the rear?

i know that just strayed away from towing,
i want a nice drop put some 19's on and fill the wheel welds pretty nicely..
so thats why i said around a 2-4 inch drop but the 3/3 looks good..

oh and funny the way your rear looks in the first pic reminded me of the time i towed my friends 03 dodge 1500 4 door, that squated my truck..

lowered 3/5 but i took the 2" shackles out to do the heaviest towing

2.5" eibach coils in the front, sit at 3" on supercrew
rear is 2 or 3" eibach hanger set at 3" with 2" ground force shackles

no big difference in quality in the shackles if you stay with the bigger brands. I would stay away from the cheap ebay ones that have junk bushings in them.

I bought all my Eibach stuff used so it was considerably cheaper then buying new
