Solid Numbers, need opinion
I have a 2005 F-150, 4x4, 145" wheelbase, 5.4L, 3:73 gears, auto. Tow Package. Per the Book, my GVWR is 15,000 Lbs., tow capacity of 9,600.
I weighted my truck and trailer at max. load yesterday at a Flying J.
Front axle, 3100 lb, rear axle, 4260 lb, and rear axles of my travel trailer, 7160 lb. for a grand total of 14,520 GVWR.
So, now i sit here on the fence, wondering if I'm o.k. or asking for trouble later on. I don't drive the trailer in the mountains, or over 65 mph. Some Rolling hills and fairly flat roads is what i drive on. Always with O/D off.
I wished i was about 2,000 Lbs, under or over, so it'd be an easier decision.
Should i just sell the truck and get a F-250, or do you think I'm o.k. ?

Go weigh it again without the trailer, let's see what your actual tongue weight is. If it's high, you could redistribute the load in the trailer to get closer to spec. You could also move some of the load from the bed into the trailer.
actually all the truck bed had in it was a 30# dolly. Maybe mu WD hitch needs to be re-adjusted if there's too much tounge weight on there.
Back to the original question - you should be okay, no need to get a F-250 if it performs and handles to your satisfaction.
I'd still like to see your weight without the trailer to see just where you stand.
