20' Jayco 5500LBS wet--

I spear fish so I haul my Kayaks around quite a bit-- I bought a set of ladder racks, welded a couple pipes on the side of the brackets so that I can use "J" bolts to secure them to underside of the rail (instead of drilling holes in the truck).

Yea...with a big emphasis on the "+"!! Have you had that thing on the scales? I have basically the same trailer from Forrest River and my sticker says 5,900 dry. I about passed out the one and only time I had to weigh it.

I would rather keep it a mystery. All I know is I've had to do a few upgrades to get my truck to pull it safe and effectively. If I was to do it all over I would have gone with something a bit lighter.

Heck yea dude, I know what you mean. I did the exact same thing. Only reason I weighed mine was I moved and I get paid for the weight of stuff I own and move on my own. So I had to weigh it to get exact numbers. I was shocked. But then at the same time, very impressed with how my truck does with the trailer. Made me think the weights listed in owners manuals and stuff are very conservative.

Hey guys, first post here. Just traded my '98 K2500 in on a 2010 F-150 XLT SuperCrew with the max tow package.

I'm towing my racecar on an open trailer for now... but plan on picking up a 24' enclosed trailer in the near future. The F-150 tows this car/trailer WAY nicer than the 3/4 ton turbo diesel did.

Love the truck!

It was the 6.5 TD. And no joke, the F150 tows better. The 6.5 had 215hp 440tq, and with the 3.73 gears was only rated to tow 7000lbs. It would bog down going up the rolling hills of MO pulling just the car on an open trailer, whereas the F150 just keeps accelerating.
