just a few questions....

well, I have searched and searched and still havent found the answers I am looking for. I have a 01' Screw 4x4 with the 5.4 and 3.55 gears. My question's are this. I am buying a 79 F150 4x4 for a play truck. Will my truck safely tow this vehicle? I am planning on adding 4.10 gears and helper springs but not anytime soon. Also, I will be adding a tranny temp gauge, as well as a larger tranny cooler. Are there any other mods that I should look into for towing this vehicle? I will be towing it on a 16' utility trailer.

The truck will be purchased in Febuary, and will be towed approx 100 miles south for a mud run in May. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check out the sticky: Trailer weight chart above this post. also, if you have your owners manual, that gives trailer tow weights.
Based on your truck presently with 5.4/ 3.55 gears, you should be fine .
I pulled a ford focus wagon cross country with my 4.0 ranger, manual tranny!
