Tailgate Weight Limit

Hey everyone,

New to the forum but have owned a ford truck in some form or another all my life. I just bought a 2007 F150 Supercab, with a 6.5' bed. now a few days prior i had bought a Yamaha Wolverine. Just to be sure i wanted to know if anyone knew the weight limits on the tailgate/cables. I dont wanna have to replace broken parts on my new baby already. any inputs appreciated. thanks

Field testing by me has shown they can handle my fat *** (225lb) my fat snowmobile (650 lbs) and the ramp (60 lbs) with no problem. I don't know what the breaking limit is but they can handle almost 1000 lbs plus the shock of loading the machine. If your worried about loading your quad bike the truck can easily handle it.

Got a great pic in my cellphone on this very topic. We had a contractor in at work the other day doing some minor concrete work. He had a prior body style (97-03) F150 and had 13 80 pound bags of cement loaded on the tailgate! Thats 1040 pounds by the way. I told him had exceeded the weight rating by a little and he said "nah I do it all the time" Will try to post the pic tonight.

My 05 F150's tailgate has seen upwards of 1000lbs without issue. It's a heck of a lot stronger then the Tundra's tailgate!
