You'll be over capacity. Can it do it? Maybe. But you are asking people to tell you it's OK to break the law. Not worth the fines if you get busted.

I would not try it unless the truck has the factory tow package and you use a weight distributing hitch.

Even then, you are really up in Super Duty territory - 1/2 ton trucks just aren't made to tow that much.

Don't ride across any scales and you won't.

What gears? And does it have the Tranny tow package? Has all the upkeep been done on this truck? If the answers are yes, 373 or 410 and yes then your in good shape!

The truck will move it. You'll be over every Ford rating for the truck. Would I personally do it once, probably. Would I buy an RV I plan to tow once a month? No way!

In Wisconsin, state boys will pull you over if they "think" you are over weight. They carry portable scales.

i know it would definetly pull it, the fact that the 5.4 in in the super duties. yes it has a tranny cooler and a towing package. not sure what class hitch tho. it has 3.55 gears with 265/70/r17 Goodyear wrangler rt/s tires. it just rolled over 50,000 miles the other day. it also has 4 leafs in the rear end.
it probably be twice in the season that he would pull the boat once in and out. the trip to the marina is about an hour and 20mins. but he likes green lake Wisconsin and lake of the Ozarks in Missouri and he lives about an hour west of chicago, thats when he would need about the 5 hours max towing time

I would not make a habit of it - which it sure sounds like it could become. It's gonna be a real dog with the 3.55's.

And when the guts of your trans get torn out, I'm sure everyone that says go ahead will help you pay for the repairs.

Anybody can say anything on the internet, use your head in trusting any free advice... free advice can get very expensive.

Many years ago, I pulled a 13,000# trailer with a Toyota (2wd, 5 speed, 1-ton, 7,000# rated). Could it do it, yes. Was it wise... no. Didn't even break anything - but God knows what problems that occured later were directly related to that massive overloading of the truck.

Do what you think makes sense - it's over the limits set by the manufacturer. If you go there, don't blame anyone but yourself for the issues that may or may not occur.
