Can my 97 pull this trailer??

I just purcahsed a 6X12 enclosed trailer that comes in at 1357lbs. I have a 1997 F-150 that is a extended cab with the manual tranny. I can not find the weight of my truck to save my life. The maximum GVWR is 6000lbs, and I wanted to make sure I do not exceed this. Also how do I tell what damn gears I have in the truck? The code in the door jam says axel 19...

As far as gears, you have a 3.55 open rear. GVW for the truck has nothing to do with the weight you can pull, although you do have to consider things like tongue weight against that number. As far as the trailer, 1357 lbs can be pulled easily, question will be how much you are putting in it.
Also you need to state, what engine and transmission you have. Manual transmission trucks have a very low towing capacity. Do you have the tow package, frame hitch, trannie cooler, etc. If you do not have a frame mounted hitch and a aux trannie cooler, you should get them.

Just about all the info you need is in the owners manual. If you do not have one, you can download one for free from www.motorcraftservice.com.

I have a frame mounted hitch, but I never added a tranny cooler. I have a 4.2l manual tranny. I only put about 100lbs in the trailer. So is this safe?

You bought a 6x12 inclosed trailer and only put 100 lbs in it?

Are you a mothball salesman?

p.s.
In 1999, Ford stated 3400lb towing for that setup.
Minus your trailer, you can safely tow one ton of mothballs.

Yes, with that weight you should be fine. Trannie cooler would be for the automatic. As stated, with the manual, the towing capacity is limited.

I have seen some of the trailers for RC planes. Some of those planes are huge.
