V-nose make much difference?

Looking into enclosed trailers and some of them come with a 'v-nose' front. They are able to stow a bit more stuff in the nose (which is always nice) but I'm wondering if they make much difference from an aerodynamic and fuel economy standpoint? Seems like they might have an advantage as they should 'cut' the wind a little better than just a flat wall.

Thoughts/opinions/experiences?

Thanks.

The faster you drive, the more the savings. People report 1-2mpg on they highway better with the V-nose.

I would agree, makes a dramatic difference - big as you go faster.

Big advantage. Your are not trying to drive the blunt end of a huge brick through the air. Sort of like holding your hand out the window at 65. Palm forward. It pushes hard on yor hand. Turn your hand sideways. A lot less pressure.

I can say that I notice a huge difference in power when towing just with a light headwind. We know the 150's have the aerodynamics of a barn door so anything else you can do to help would be noticed in power and MPG. I dread towing wide tall objects regardless of wieght because of this. I can tow a 2200 lbs suzuki samurai that is lifted 8" and it can be a pain. Towed a camero loaded with crap inside and I was in OD all day doing 80 even up hills.

Yep. You're literally halving the frontal area of the trailer.

I just bought a 6x12 V nose a month ago. I had a 6x10, caught wind real easy. I could tell a big difference in pulling. I had to pick the new on up in Knoxville, TN, and could tell a difference withing the first few miles on the interstate. Not for sure about gas mileage. Getting ready to take a trip in 2 weeks, can't wait to find out.
