Monitoring Trans Temp

I've got a new '07 on order, should be here in a week or so. I'm now buying up some of the required accessories that need to immediately go on the truck. One of the things I want to do is to be able to monitor trans temp while towing. I don't tow all that frequently, but when I do it's often a car trailer or other relatively heavy item.

I've seen a number of multi-function devices that plug into the OBDC port and pull out all sorts of temps. Is that good enough for watching the trans temp? Are the built in sensors accurate enough and in the right places? Does anyone have a recommendation for one of these types of units?

If you get an Edge it has a built in trans temp gauge, plus it will give you some power.

I bought the Edge Evo for being able to monitor temps. The added power and shift firmness was just a plus in my book. I love mine, and you can definetely tell the difference in the truck with the Edge on the truck.

Edge bought for towing as well. It is truly a valuable tool as well as giving the truck more power.
