7050# GVWR Identification?

2005 F-150 SCrew Lariat 4x2

Is there any way besides looking at the sticker or VIN to determine if my truck has the 7050# GVWR package?

Here's the problem:

The original sticker has 7050# package listed under optional equipment but no price next to it. The VIN decoder says that it has 7001# to 8000# GVWR. It has SIX lug wheels. All of the auto part stores say that it should have SEVEN lugs if it has the 7050# package.

So I'm trying to figure out if it has the package or not. Can you tell perhaps by the number of leaf springs in the rear? Anything?

Thanks in advance!
Vince

Your auto parts store is confused. First, Supercrews are not availible with the heavy duty payload package. All 2004-2007 Screw's have 6 lugs. The 2000-2003 heavyd duty payload package was 7700 (GVWR) with the 2004+ models 8200 pounds.

GVWR for 2004+ Screws:

2wd 4.6L: 6800
2wd 5.4L: 7050
4wd 4.6L: 6900
4wd 5.4L: 7200

So, you probably have thre 7050 GVWR, but your truck weighs 5400 pounds to the payload is still around 1650, like most F-150's.

There is another payload package. I believe it is 8200lbs. That one has 7 lug wheels. The old model, 97-03 had a 7700lb package which had the 7 lug wheels also. All 04 up without the 8200lb package have 6 lug wheels.
