My F-150 Towing My Toy

Finally remember to get pics while the Jeep was on the trailer. Handles the load great, but I think the Jeep is about the most I'd ever put behind the F-150.

Just Curious?

How much does your Jeep weigh? I ask because I need to rent a BoBCat to do some landscaping, from a rental place down the road, does the Jeep weigh more than the BobCat? or Vise Versa? Don't want to overload......

Depends on the bobcat, Or forman has one that is the bigger kind and it's 7k. But the bosses 763 or 761 something, it's like 5.5k

Standard skidsteers weigh roughly 5K give or take with different brands. With a good dual axle trailer and trailer brakes you will be fine..

My jeep weighs about 4500# + the 1500# trailer. You should be fine towing the Bobcat. The reason why I said I wouldn't put anything bigger behind the F-150 is because I travel some relatively long distances towing the jeep 500+ mile trips and I just wouldn't want to stress it that much for that long. Just my opinion.

Jeep looks good!

Especially with the flat fenders and stinger/hoop bumper.

Don't do that. There's a reason truckers place their weight closest to the cab. It's called sway.

true. i wasn't thinking about that. i was thinking more about leveling out the truck, but that is true.

That's exactly why it's loaded like that. It is a bit deceiving too because the truck has a 2" Autospring Lift in the front. I have never had any problems with this setup swaying nor has the truck ever bottomed out, and I have been down some pretty bad roads getting to the off-road parks.

There was a guy in my club towing a jeep/trailer setup like mine and he didn't want to squat the truck too bad. It was swaying like crazy until I finally talked him into pulling the jeep 6 inches or so forward and all the sway went away.

Get a WD (weight distribution) hitch. It will do a world of good for sag in the rear and make your ride feel more comfortable on the long runs. I tow a very similar setup (jeep on car hauler) and once I added my WD hitch, and figured out where to put the jeep on the trailer all is well. My Jeep is way forward on my trailer and the truck sits almost completely level.
